The Special Services at Home (SSAH) program provides direct funding to families caring for children or youth (under 18) with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Eligible families can apply online or via a regional office to help cover necessary support costs.
The Children with Special Needs page outlines a wide range of supports available for children and youth facing physical, developmental, behavioural, or communication challenges. It connects families with services such as rehabilitation, mental health support, coordinated service planning, assistive device funding, respite care, and special education.
The Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) is your access point for adult developmental supports funded by the Ontario government. Starting at age 16, families can apply through DSO to connect with services such as housing, Passport funding, caregiver respite, community participation, and more.
The Passport Program offers government-funded support for Ontario adults (18 +) with developmental disabilities. Eligible individuals receive at least $5,500 per year, with the opportunity for significantly more based on assessed needs.
